The Met Gala 2016

This years Met Gala, the same as every other year – did not disappoint. With ball gowns galore, what’s not to love about the fashion event of the Spring? This years theme, as chosen by Anna Wintour her self, was all about embracing technology and the future – based on the upcoming exhibit at the Metropolitan museum – Manus x Machina: Fashion in and Age of Technology. The fashion elite went out for it this year with strong stand out looks all embracing the events theme. Think silver, metal, sparkle, sleek and metallic and you’ve just about summed this year’s event up!

Here are some of my favourite looks from the evening:

Claire Danes:

The Homeland star has out done herself in this breathtaking dress designed by Zac Posen. It’s the dream Cinderella dress – with the added bonus of it lighting up in the dark; highlighting the beautiful detail and shape of the dress. It would be hard to run away from Prince Charming at Midnight in this dress! Check out Zac Posen’s Instagram for a little nose at a few videos of the dress!

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik:

Making there debut as possibly the most beautiful couple ever at the moment at the Met Gala last night and they looked like the perfect pair. Both supporting the technology theme; Gigi looked stunning in a Tommy Hilfiger sequinned bodice with a sheer skirt. Whilst Zayn opted for a more unique style, wearing metal plated arms, designed by Versace, over the top of his tuxedo. Comparable to a Transformer? Yes. But still stunning.

Blake Lively:

Blake looked absolutely glowing in this blush toned Burberry gown, with a detachable cape and gorgeous laser-cut petal attached to the dress. The new mum-to-be looked amazing as per usual; of course fitting comfortably on the steps of the Met (Excuse Gossip Girl reference – it has to be said!)

Nicole Kidman:

Bewitching. Is this perfect word to describe this jaw dropping Alexander McQueen gown worn by Nicole last night. Silver embellishments of a nighttime sky scene, a plunging neckline and a stunning cape – makes this the perfect statement dress for the event.

Kendal Jenner:

Side cut outs seem to be a major trend at this years gala – supported by the one and only Kendal Jenner. Kendal wore this sultry cutout dress by Versace – showing off her amazing body of course and looking absolutely gorgeous head to toe – I mean she is a supermodel after all!

That’s a Wrap! Those are some of my favourite outfits from the Met Gala this year, but with so many to choose from I’ll be lusting over all of them on Instagram for a while!

Who were your favourites this year?!
