Mythical. Magical. Romantic. These are the three words that I would use to describe Dior’s Spring/Summer couture show that featured in Paris earlier this week. Think fairy-tale Princess and you’ll get the idea of the collection. Personally for me, fairy-tale Princess is the PERFECT type of collection, I couldn’t dream of more. The show opened with the models wearing masks and headdresses marking them out as creatures. After the first few monochrome outfits the collection transformed into long pleated and tulle skirts, capes and beautifully embroidered detailing.
Colours represented those of the sky and the earth, with the embroidered detailing often being flowers and seasonal symbols, mixed in with the occasional mythical symbol and representation. A garden fairy princess springs to mind when looking at the majority of the collection, who wouldn’t turn down the chance to look like a fairy princess? I know I wouldn’t. Simple hair and dewy makeup also tied up with the natural theme of the show. Set in a heavily dressed set of foliage and flowers covering in walls and the floors head-to-toe, bringing the whole woodland show together.
What did you think of the show?
